WWE: Analysis Of Every Wrestlemania

Wrestlemania XX - March 14, 2004

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raINvMbmaRM Venue: Madison Square Garden, New York City Attendance: 20,000 WWE and Wrestlemania returned to New York's Madison Square Garden for the 20th anniversary of the super show in 2004 in front of twenty thousand rabid New York fans. Looking much smaller in scale than previous years given the choice of venue the PPV will perhaps be considered the most controversial of all time as it was the year that Chris Benoit defeated Shawn Michaels and Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship in the only decent non 1-on-1 main event in the events history. The match itself was superb and deserves to be showcased in all its glory but the fact that it features Benoit means it will likely never see the light of day again. Such a terrible shame. The 20th Anniversary card had some excellent moments and a pretty decent card too including Mick Foley and The Rock putting over Batista and Randy Orton, Christian surprisingly beating Y2J, the Wrestlemania debut of John Cena and Eddie Guerrero defending his WWE Championship against Kurt Angle. The only match that had no place on the card perhaps was Brock Lesnar Vs Goldberg as both men had made it clear they were going to leave the company win, lose or draw after the match. In the end the only real winner was Stone Cold Steve Austin who gave both men Stunner's to wave them goodbye and good luck in their future endeavours.
