WWE: Analysis Of Every Wrestlemania

Wrestlemania IV - March 27, 1988

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3-htE_1KzY Venue: The Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey Attendance: 25,165 Perhaps against his better judgement Vince McMahon opted to have the fourth Wrestlemania play host to a 4 hour long tournament to determine the new WWF Champion after the belt was held up following a controversial moment in which Ted Dibiase bought the belt from Andre the Giant who had defeated Hogan on an episode of Main Event after using a corrupt referee. The tournament which was filled with largely undeserving competitors and throw away matches included such names as The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, Haxsaw Jim Duggan, Dino Bravo and Bam Bam Bigelow. Hulk Hogan and Andre were also both entered but fought to a double disqualification in the quarter finals. The tournament final featured The Macho Man Randy Savage with Miss Elizabeth battling the dastardly Million Dollar Man. Although this was Savage's night it would be Hogan helping his friend defeat Dibiase and ultimately find his way into Savage's spotlight as the show came to a close. Vince was never going to allow Wrestlemania to end without Hogan standing tall in front of the millions watching.
