WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week

7. Make Us Care

Alberto Del Rio is a former WWE Champion. Or so my memory tells me. Actually yes, he€™s held the gold twice! Upon his return to the company he defeated John Cena cleanly in seven minutes. That was only six months ago. Basically, he should still mean something.

Right now, Roman Reigns€™ long awaited (in Vince McMahon€™s mind) run as the face of the company is off to a disastrous start. The WrestleMania bump in the ratings is gone, and we€™re sinking to near all-time lows. Enter the Raw main event.

With Roman advertised to be in the final match, hundreds of thousands of people tuned out before the third hour began. Part of the problem is, they didn't even try to make us care. Del Rio means nothing to the company, he constantly loses meaningless tag matches, and it feels like a complete waste to have brought him back into the fold. Before the main event, they didn€™t give him a single minute to cut a promo, saying why Roman won€™t make it to Payback, or something along those lines. Most people probably wouldn't have bought it, but you have to try!

Hopefully Roman is turning soon, because there€™s no heels for him to fight, largely due to WWE not bothering to make anyone seem like they€™re at his level. As for Del Rio, bring back Ricardo Rodriguez, and let's pretend the last three years or so never happened.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
