Shane and Taker got Raw off to a really hot start. The other two hours and 40 minutes could have taken place at any other point in the year it felt like. The go-home episode before WrestleMania is supposed to build the storylines to a fever pitch, leaving us shaking in excitement for the show with a lot of sleepless nights. What we saw were bland storylines getting bland reactions from the crowd. It€™s been too easy to sleep.

Perhaps never before have fans been so disinterested in the upcoming Mania main event. It was painfully awkward and funny to listen to fans pelt the BABYFACE challenger in the World Title match with €œYou still suck!€ after landing an impressive dive over the top rope. Will HHH accept any of the blame for the failure to get Roman over? Doubtful. Will Vince take any of the blame for over-pushing Roman? Nah. Will anything change post-Mania? Let€™s hope so.

The biggest question coming into the next edition of Raw is €œWhich McMahon will control Raw?€ Is that really what the wrestling world has come to? The Authority was already ousted from power at Survivor Series 2014. It didn€™t matter. Shane McMahon beat his father at WrestleMania 15 years ago. They€™re still going at it. Kane and The Big Show have already competed in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. Jericho and Styles have already fought three times. Kalisto has already beat Ryback. The Total Divas match could happen on Main Event, and no one would cry foul.

Yes, it will be great to see The Rock, Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker should be an entertaining train wreck, and it€™s satisfying to see the women€™s title match finally get some love. But this is Wrestlemania, and not one storyline in the entire company has the traits of being fresh, exciting and logical. Somehow WWE continues to succeed in spite of itself. And yet, I€™ll probably enjoy this show in spite of their booking.

Time to kick out.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
