WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (April 5)

3. Slimeball City

Justin Roberts was employed by WWE for 12 years. Sure, he was no Howard Finkel, but who could forget his trademark €œJohhhhhn Ceeeena?€ It was pretty good I say! Anyway, he split ways with WWE, and besides a minor incident where WWE took down one of his videos on Youtube, seemed to be minding his own business. Until he couldn€™t take it anymore! Roberts posted a really interesting blog at medium.com about how he was the one who brought Connor The Crusher into the WWE fold. Then upper management basically booted him out of the way, and for PR reasons pushed the heck out of that story to make themselves look like the greatest company on Earth. Meanwhile, they ignore every long time non-wrestler employee completely, which goes against what Warrior was arguing for in the first place. It€™s a sad, but telling read, and a highly believable one. After all, Roberts has proof, and WWE has a slimy history of bragging about their charitable work instead of just letting the work speak for itself. It was great what WWE did for Connor and his family, but it€™s a bit slimy how they pushed the heck out of their narrative at every single possible opportunity. Roberts was pushed aside, and Daniel Bryan and Stephanie were made to look like heroes. After all, you didn€™t see Roberts at the Hall Of Fame, but you sure as heck saw the camera cut to Steph half a dozen times to show her tears. Is this too cynical? You be the judge. The day of Connor€™s induction into the Hall of Fame, Steph had the gall to Tweet €œPhilanthropy is the future of marketing.€ Yuck. So much for being selfless.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
