WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (August 3)

2. WWE Layoffs

Besides Ricardo Rodriguez, developmental wrestlers Travis Tyler, Garrett €œWhy the hell did they not give him Kristofferson as a last name, did they not learn from Michael McGillicutty€ Dylan, and about 60 office workers were let go over the week. This all appears to stem from the fact that WWE subscription numbers came in at 700,00 which is still over half-a-million subscriptions short of being profitable. It€™s only about 30,000 people more than the last time they announced numbers. These low numbers also explains all of the recent trial offers and why Jerry Lawler and JBL were pleading with us to subscribe. Next month they€™ll probably offer to have dinner with the jobber of your choice if you subscribe for six months. I got dibs on Horowitz! The initial goal of one million subscribers by the end of the year is looking incredibly unlikely. This may lead to ads on the network and potentially an increase in price. If only they€™d put more effort into making the Network feel worthwhile. Next to the pay-per-views, it€™s mainly a vault of older stuff that only the most hardcore fans would be interested in. You could sit through Legends House in 10 hours (and would probably suffer from depression and irritability), and that would be a majority of their €œnew€ content. When am I going to get my Rikishi Stinkface Week? Well, hopefully there won€™t be any more releases as the roster is already feeling too depleted to cover the amount of TV time they have every week.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
