WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Feb 14)

7. A.J. Loses

I read the spoilers on Tuesday night, and saw that A.J. Styles was going to take the loss to Chris Jericho on SmackDown. I wasn€™t thrilled at the thought, but didn€™t worry much about it. I mean, there€™s too many other things to worry about in life! For example, what if I€™m watching Raw and Santino suddenly shows up again and I€™m not prepared for it? Will my neighbors hear my screams? Also, I figured if Styles did the job to Y2J, it was likely due to Mr. No-Shirt Vest Man cheating and solidifying himself as a full-on heel. Instead, the match ended cleanly. Nah, don€™t like it. I€™m not going to panic and say that Vince McMahon is out to bury Styles due to him being a €œredneck€ but this feels premature to see him lose. Frustratingly, it's another case of 50/50 booking. Both guys, though, should be picking up a bunch of victories before ever facing off in the first place. Jericho vs. Styles could have been built up to WrestleMania as a first time major event, something you€™d never think you€™d see. But WWE lacks patience, so it was thrown out there the day after The Royal Rumble, and then booked again for SmackDown, and now we€™ll soon get round three. Remember the days when a new wrestler would debut and not lose for months? That seemed to work before. But within a short amount of time, A.J. may feel like just another WWE wrestler, which is definitely something I never thought I€™d see.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
