WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Feb 26)

7. The World’s Weakest Pipe

Maryse and Nikki

Well, it looks like there’s no way out of this now. We’re headed down a dark path and there’s nothing we can do about it. John Cena and Nikki Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania is on its way. I don’t know whether to feel bad for John, or if this is something he heavily pushed for behind the scenes to make his never-wife happy.

On SmackDown, Maryse got tired of being reduced to a slapstick gag with women constantly getting thrown into her, so she attacked Nikki with a pipe that looked more like that piece of cardboard inside of wrapping paper than an actual pipe. The feud is off the ground, and heading down a path that is highly unlikely to deliver anything good.

Had WWE protected Miz over the past year like they should have, then Miz/Cena would actually be a worthwhile match. But despite doing the best work of his career, Miz became easily beatable again, and all that hard work he put in for the Intercontinental Title seems for naught. So we’re getting a mixed tag, which is always a bad move. I’ll never understand the logic of them. Why not book two separate singles matches instead? If Miz and Cena have to tag out when Nikki and Maryse are tagged in, then it really is just a convoluted singles match, except that you’re adding two less talented wrestlers into the fold.

Make it a mixed tag cardboard pipe on a pole match, though, and all is forgiven.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
