WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Jan 17)

1. Rooty Tooty Awful

In the late 90s, Chris Jericho was a favorite of mine. He cracked me up with his Man of 1,004 Holds, the ridiculous foot on his opponents€™ chest pinning attempt, and the brilliant conspiracy victim act. Where has that Jericho gone? Is there an actual conspiracy going on, and the innovative, clever Jericho has secretly retired, and this older, vest wearing with no shirt and a scarf around his neck hack taken his place? The problem is, the more years that pass, the more Jericho becomes like your unfunny uncle who shows up at Thanksgiving telling bad jokes, and you pretend to laugh at them. It€™s like he has a thought, and immediately thinks it€™s genius, because he€™s Chris Jericho. He doesn€™t scrap ideas or tweak them, he just gives us garbage and thinks he€™s delivering gold. Nauseatingly on Raw, he showed off a bunch of people on Twitter saying how amazing he was, with the last one ending €œI love Chris Jericho... rooty tooty booty is my new favorite saying.€ That has to be a heel maneuver right? No one could be so un-self aware€could they? He then waited for that phrase to pick up. It did not. Later on, he tried again when New Day came out. No dice. Unless this is a brilliantly calculated plan to turn heel to play off his increasing lameness over the years, then this one time great star has completely lost it. No roots, no toots, just reality. Time to kick out. As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
