7. Walk On In

I’ve never been able to get into WWE cage matches that much, because much like the plans to the Death Star, there is a fatal flaw built in to them: Wrestlers in the match can just open up the damn cage door whenever they want and walk out! Why does anyone bother doing anything else other than run for the door at every available opportunity?

This week was one of the more absurd efforts in recent memory. Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch were given the main event of the show, and they tried to build it up as a big deal. Daniel Bryan was sick of all of Alexa’s tricks, so he’d force her to fight in a match where there could be absolutely no interference whatsoever...except, you know, unless someone wants to open up that door. BUT BESIDES THAT!

So Bryan looks like a fool for booking the match, because La Luchadora just walked right in. Then the reveal of Mickie James was kind of foolish since it clearly wasn’t her under the mask in prior weeks. The crowd was also a bunch of fools for barely popping for the reveal. Show some respect children, she was once involved in a psedo-lesbian stalker storyline before you were born!

Really, though, what is the point of a steel cage if you can walk right into it? At the very least someone needs to buy a better lock.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
