WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Jan 22)
3. Not So Amazing Race
You know you’re watching a really bad match when the lead play-by-play announcer has no idea what the hell is going on and says, "We'll get through this."
One of the worst match concepts in TNA history was Feast or Fired. Even if you won the match you could be fired forever, which makes it seem like a punishment to have to be in it. Never forget that the match sealed the fate of future Hall of Famer Curry Man. Unfortunately, it has now been replaced by the equally wonky Race for the Case.
There are four different briefcases, each one has a different color. There is a number in each one. The person with the No. 1 case gets to challenge anyone (I think) for whatever belt they want on Open Fight Night. Then everyone else gets to challenge in order. They made this seem like getting the No. 4 case was the worst option. However, in theory, couldn’t the person with No. 1 case challenge the Heavyweight Title Holder, then No. 2 challenges him right away, then 3 and 4 follow suit? There was no rule laid out against that.
To make things more confusing, half of the people in the match wrestled with their tag partner. There was no rule for or against that though. So when one team member grabbed a briefcase, why did they both go to the back? IT MADE NO SENSE!
TNA has a pretty damn small, yet entertaining roster. However, they make things overly complicated, which only leads to bad, nonsensical matches that nobody is happy with. The time for coming up with such ridiculous stipulations should have ended years ago. The only thing worse on the show this week was how they handled the unveiling...
