WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Jan 22)
4. Neverending Segment
“Roses are red. Violets are blue. This segment was bad. Fire whoever wrote it.” Damn... I tried to rhyme. Ah well. I guess that’s what happens when you come up with something on the spot.
Actually, is this segment even over yet? It is? Ah good. Then we can talk about it. It’s always nice to have an Ivory appearance on TV, even if it’s only in photo form. Bayley also showed some nice fire during her promo, but the rest felt incredibly drawn out and kind of boring. As solid as Charlotte has been to build the Women’s Division around, the material she’s been given on a weekly basis has been pretty bad at times. She’s doing her best with it, but it’s limiting her in what she can do.
WWE needs to walk a fine line with Bayley. She can be a cute character, but if they go too far in that direction fans will lose interest in her. Watching a grown woman live out her childhood dream, and being in awe of how far she’s come is endearing, but coming up with bad poems “on the spot” brings her over into John Cena lameness territory.
The thought of watching the two women battle on the main roster was an exciting thing not too long ago, but now we’ve seen them go at it too many times and star in too many bad segments together to really care anymore. The story should have been: Charlotte will finally be toppled. Well, Sasha did that like 14 times. The second story should have been: Bayley somehow beats the unbeatable. We’ve already seen that three times. Now it’s “will Bayley beat Charlotte the 10th time they’ve competed in some form?”
