WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (July 17)
5. New Day Channels Their Inner Hardy
How did New Day going to the Wyatt’s compound make it to air? When the idea was pitched, why didn’t someone say “Oh, hold on a second, TNA just did that. We should think of something else.”
There’s no good reason why WWE should have done this days after Final Deletion. You cannot copy a masterpiece!
The style they used was drastically different than anything WWE has ever done. They could have had New Day bring along a couple of cameramen to capture the brawl and explain it storyline-wise, but instead the segment was like a movie with multiple camera angles, and a filter over the screen.
Lucha Underground can get away with this style of storytelling, because it’s consistent with everything else they do. TNA can get away with it, because they’re in incredibly bad shape, so they may as well try something. They also did it in an entertaining way that got people talking.
WWE has an infinitely bigger budget than TNA, but they crapped out a poor man’s Final Deletion...which is something they should probably be ashamed of for years.
