Trevor Lee Split Decision TNA

The Cruiserweight Classic is underway, and the first episode got things off to a good start. Over in TNA, they brought their Cruiserweight equivalents in the X-Division out for Destination X. To kick off the show, they went with the typical car crash-like match where a bunch of people without any defined personalities (Mandrews, Trevor Lee, Andrew Everett) do a bunch of crazy moves. Then we move onto more important things, like what color headband will Bobby Lashley wear tonight?

The match went less than six minutes. TNA needs to follow WWE in the sense that when a ladder comes out for a match, you make it count. Tossing it out there to open a show, and not giving it anywhere enough time only continues to devalue the gimmick.

DJ Z picked up an impressive victory, but there’s so little hope that it will lead to anything for the division. Z may move on to bigger things, but he won’t elevate the X-Division back to its former glory, because creative can’t seem to think of a single storyline for any of its competitors. Get to work Billy!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
