WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (July 19)

1. Worst For Business

Yes, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Charlotte joining the main roster was an awesome moment. It was well deserved, and long overdue. I wish I could turn off part of my brain and go €œLook how cool this is!€ I can€™t. All I can think is €œWhy does Stephanie McMahon have to be here?€ Instead of making Paige look cool by bringing up Charlotte and Becky Lynch for reinforcements, Steph needlessly threw herself into a big moment for absolutely no beneficial reason. Did she forget she was a heel? Because she€™s a heel, right? While on-screen, she also couldn€™t help cut down the current top Divas, reducing them to scared children. This woman who has wrestled once in the past decade (and won for no reason) had the champ, and her stable fearing for their lives. It€™s such a bizarre and stupid promoting tactic. Imagine Andre the Giant and Ted DiBiase being scared of Jack Tunney, picture The Undertaker looking like he€™s about to cry when Vince McMahon showed up in the Attitude Era. €œLet me be very clear, I run WWE.€ Oh, thanks Steph. You€™re also leading The Authority so...should we cheer you or what? Let€™s face it, Stephanie is one of the worst characters in WWE history. Don€™t confuse this with the person, but the character is an all-time dud. Bastion Booger, Uncle Elmer and Beaver Cleavage stunk up our TVs for a short period of time, but Steph is going on 15-plus-years of being a damaging character. She makes the wrestlers around her feel less important. Booger never did that. She just can€™t help but make herself the center of attention whenever it makes her look good. Maybe she learned it from her husband? The next worst thing about the landmark segment? It ended with them playing the theme song to Total Divas. Please don€™t be a sign of things to come. Time to kick out.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
