WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (March 1)

3. Goodbye Rey

Rey Mysterio had an incredibly successful career in WWE. You could argue he was one of the top 20 babyfaces in the company€™s history (though he had no business being ranked above Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Gorgeous George on that that top 50 Superstars of All-Time DVD...that€™s a whole other article). He€™s one of the few wrestlers that even non-fans find cool. After a horrendous, embarrassing past few years, Rey went out on a real down note. He racked up a couple wellness policy violations, he gained weight, he slowed down, he paired up with Sin Cara in a mediocre team, and then lost to Bad News Barrett the day after WrestleMania last year. That was the last we saw of him. Now he€™s gone. It sounds like Rey had a falling out with WWE management the past few months, and had no desire to ever come back. It€™s unfortunate, as instead of being able to put someone over on the way out (say a Sami Zayn, Kalisto or Adrian Neville) in a final, great program, he went out with no fanfare. From an on-air standpoint, it€™s another disappearance that will never be mentioned, much like The Great Khali, Mr. Kennedy and D€™Lo Brown. Best of luck Rey wherever you€™ll jump out the sky next.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
