WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (March 1)

https://twitter.com/StephMcMahon/status/570434409981194240 Stephanie McMahon felt inspired by Patricia Arquette€™s Oscar speech this week, and Tweeted about her support of equal pay for women in entertainment. It€™s a noble cause, but the problem is it€™s highly doubtful any woman in the company in an on-air role besides Steph and her mom has ever made seven figures in a year. Plenty of men have, but women are never treated as serious competitors. AJ Lee rightfully pointed this out in back-to-back Tweets: €œYour female wrestlers have record selling merchandise & have starred in the highest rated segment of the show several times. And yet they receive a fraction of the wages & screen time of the majority of the male roster.€ While I€™m not sure about her first two points, but it€™s fair to bring up how horribly the Divas division has been pushed over the years. Other women on the roster joined in on the cause, and #givedivasachance began trending on Twitter (a more popular trend than the sadly WWE created #GiveRTruthachance). The bosses finally decided to chime in with Steph €œthanking€ AJ for her opinion (you can just imagine the anger she felt while typing that one) and Vince telling us that he hears us and to €œStay tuned.€ First of all, just from watching The Royal Rumble, we all know his hearing sucks. Second of all he€™s had 31 years of the WrestleMania era to push women better than just catty, petty, eye candy. UFC€™s videos promoting Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano relied on clips of them beating the crap out of other opponents to build excitement. WWE Divas feuds are based off of stealing each other€™s clothes. That pretty much sums up why you shouldn€™t give WWE the benefit of the doubt on this one. Perhaps Vince should give someone else a chance to book the division. Time to kick out. Agree? Disagree? What was your worst wrestling moment of the week? Sound off below, and thanks for reading!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
