WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (May 3)

4. Defying Good Taste

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh3OYV0cO08 Last week I was forced to add Booker to worst of the week because he said he thinks Naomi is the greatest Diva of all time. This week he returns with a vengeance, and under more unfortunate circumstances. On Raw, while the announcers were talking about how no King of the Ring winners defied gravity like Neville, Owen Hart€™s name was brought up and Booker responded with €œHe didn€™t defy gravity.€ Yikes! That line would literally have been fine with every other wrestling in WWE history. But since Owen fell 90 feet to his death on a live pay-per-view ehhhh€ that€™s a little uncomfortable. While there€™s no doubt he wasn't trying to purposefully insult Owen, his words were pretty cringe worthy. Elsewhere with Booker, he also seems to forget that he€™s a babyface announcer from time to time. At Extreme Rules, we went to the panel where Booker was seated having a great time and congratulating The New Day on their victory. Did he watch the match? Kofi held the tights on Cesaro when he pinned him. Apparently that doesn€™t matter. How do heels get heat when no one cares that they cheat? Booker should have been outraged, and later, Renee Young was found guilty of being a horrible announcer while chanting €œNew Day!€ along with the team. Does no one in WWE understand why this is bad? They used to! When The Honky Tonk man would cheat to win his matches, Gene Okerlund wouldn€™t start dancing with him. He saved that nonsense for the Gobbledy Gooker, the company€™s next great babyface! Unfortunately, announcers doing their jobs well seems to be a lost art in WWE these days.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
