WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Nov 13)

7. Helluva Bad Segment

One of the best ways to get a talent over in WWE is to give them the old Stephanie McMahon treatment. You know the bit. It's the one where she yells at someone face-to-face, tells them how worthless and ugly they are, how she hates their style of music and all of their family members and lets us know how stupid we are for liking them. She then tells them to leave before they have any sort of comeback, and then they quickly walk offstage and cry.

This has worked exactly zero times ever.

Sami Zayn was the most recent victim of her verbal assaults this week, as she ran him down in short order and he walked away with his head hung low wishing he could go back to NXT.

Remember the days of Steve Austin, The Rock or even Chris Jericho as a face? If management treated them like s**t on-air, they’d dish it back tenfold. These days wrestlers largely let Hunter and Steph browbeat them, and then they accept it. What are they gonna do? Go to TNA? But that’s not what we want from our heroes.

Now, I’m not advocating for Sami to have given her the Helluva Kick in the office, but he should have at least stood up to her, told her off, won his match, then told her off again. But that wouldn't have got Steph over, which seems to be the only purpose of every segment she's in.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
