WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Nov 15)

3. The Laziest Tournament Of The Year

Okay, who decided which wrestlers got into the 16 man tournament on Raw? I want answers! Were 16 random names just thrown into a hat? I'm pretty sure that Miz, King Barrett and Stardust have three of the worst win/loss records on the roster. How did they sneak in? And how about Brock Lesnar, does he want no part of this? What about John Cena? The Undertaker? Nobody popular wants the title? As unfortunate as it was for Seth Rollins to go down with an injury, WWE had a chance to really shake things up in his absence. Instead, they haphazardly threw together a title tournament, and called it a day. They could have tried to make it seem special, and have guys like Titus O€™Neil cutting promos about what this opportunity means to them. You know, the sort of thing they do in NXT to make matches feel important. Instead, it was a foregone conclusion he€™d lose, and the man didn€™t get a second to speak. On SmackDown, the tournament continued, and the outcome of Ryback and Kalisto delivered a good surprise, but again, advantage of the situation was not taken. Kalisto should have had a backstage promo after his win putting over the upset, and trying to draw fans into believing he may somehow win this thing. By the end of the night, it was forgotten. WWE delivers cool moments like this, and then has no idea what to do with the follow up. Hopefully this tournament picks up, because we€™re not off to a good start.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
