Im not going to lie, Grumpy Cat on Raw wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. However, it was quite some distance away from being entertaining in any sort of way. It was most definitely an idea that you wouldnt label as good. However, I was imagining every commercial break wed get Hornswoggle dancing in a cat outfit and playing with string trying to get Grumpy to smile. So in the grand scheme of things I think we ended up okay. What did bug me, though, is the comedy of Miz trying to have a conversation with a cat. Its one of those things that perhaps Im over-thinking, or WWE didnt think through enough. Am I supposed to believe that Miz is so stupid that hes trying to pitch ideas to a cat? Am I supposed to find it funny? If so, why was it so bad? I mean, Miz is already a caricature, and Mizdow is a caricature of a caricature. Do we really need to think that theyre also two of the dumbest people on the planet? Maybe thats just me. And not for nothing, but Jerry Lawler made a crack about Grumpy Cat having just seen one of Mizs movies, which is why he was a not so happy cat. Oh, yeah King, you mean Miz movies like Wrestling Queens, The Marine 4 and Christmas Bounty which are essentially the only movies hes been in lately? And all of which were produced by WWE? Well, Grumpy Cat may have made me a Grumpy Viewer this week, but Ill still take a cat over Larry the Cable Guy any day.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
