WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Nov 23)

3. Goodbye Spike. Next Destination? America!

In one sense, TNA getting a new network is good news since they get to survive. It felt like we may have seen the last of Dixie Carter€™s rag-tag wrestling promotion these past few months, but they€™ll be around for at least a couple more years. On the other hand, moving to Destination America is clearly a step down. Whether TNA will admit to it, Spike TV was a pretty good fit for them. Due to poor booking, and a complete failure to increase ratings, it seems that it was TNA who let Spike down more than the other way around. Simply, Spike TV is available in more American homes than Destination America is. A lot more. Impact will lose availability to over 40 million homes. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer even speculates that the show will at least initially be watched less than Ring of Honor! TNA is apparently going to re-launch Impact with a new look and probably some new characters. But will it matter? Over the past nine years, the company has struggled to gain any momentum. It didn€™t matter that they moved from Saturday to Thursday, gained an extra hour, moved to Monday for a new Monday Night War, moved back to Thursdays, started airing the show live, took the show on the road, or moved to Wednesdays. It simply didn€™t matter. Unless a new creative team with a new booking philosophy comes in, then it may be a matter of time before TNA has to again find another, smaller, home. I think the local access channel in my area is looking for some new programming!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
