You just gotta love WWE storylines. Just last week, John Cena announced to the world that he had selected Jack Swagger to join his team at Survivor Series (apparently he doesnt watch the actual shows, as Swagger has a terrible win/loss record). Later in the night Swagger was laid out, and it was announced he couldnt compete on the team anymore. Sad. However, Swagger was totally fine to wrestle on Main Event a few days before the pay-per-view. Does Swagger have nothing to say about being replaced? You would think he would. And more importantly, why couldnt WWE have just kept him off of TV another week? Was there no other jobber they could have found to take his place? Brooklyn Brawler is always in the back somewhere. Its just so frustrating that WWE cares so little attention to details that they take a major storyline, and pretend one of the chapters of the story just never happened. Its lazy, inconsistent and makes it hard to invest in the product. Imagine Swagger shows up at Survivor Series in Big Show's place and it wasn't explained why there was a switch. Imagine Erick Rowan comes out to the ring dressed as one of The Usos without any explanation. Imagine within the next couple years hundreds of thousands of fans quit watching because whatever they are currently seeing may not matter just a week later. Oh wait. That last one has already happened.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
