WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Oct 1)

7. I Choose You!

Bound for Glory is upon us...I think.

It’s TNA's biggest show of the year, and they pulled one of those weird, old tricks of not telling us exactly what the main event of the show will be until a couple days beforehand. Silly promoters!

We knew it was going to be Bobby Lashley vs. EC III, but we didn’t know what the stipulation was...now we do. No Holds Barred, the match that Hulk Hogan and Tiny Lister made famous.

Besides that little bit of nonsense, Lashley proved he’s one of the worst team captains in the history of any organized sport. For the Lethal Lockdown match, he chose Drew Galloway to join him into battle, along with Mike Bennett and...Maria?

When Billy Corgan made the match last week, he never stipulated that a woman wrestler must be chosen. So why the hell did Lashely take Maria, especially since she’s never even wrestled a single legitimate match in the company! EC III should have just said “Cool. I pick Tyrus” or Jeff Hardy, or really, anyone who has ever had an actual match in the company!

The ending was also a bit of a downer as Lashley choked out EC III. It’s likely wrestling reverse psychology for Sunday, but keeping them away from each other entirely would have been a better build up than the babyface hero laying on the ground after losing. We’ll see how it all plays out...if it actually airs at all.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
