WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Oct 1)

6. Dean Doesn’t Get It

Dean Ambrose has to the worst written character in WWE right now.

During his promo on SmackDown, he brought up the fact that SmackDown is PG show, which is one of the lamest things a wrestler can do, because it breaks the fourth wall, and makes the talent seem more like a company “yes man” than a rebel who can’t be controlled. Imagine Austin saying "I can't flip the bird anymore...because Vince might get mad at me!" during his peak.

It then got worse as Dean talked about A.J. Styles bragging about how he beat John Cena, but he just did that himself, so it’s old news “just like John Cena.” That was an idiotic line.

Whether we like John Cena or not, the guy has been he biggest star in the company by a huge margin over the past 12 years. The man rarely loses. He basically went years without losing a match cleanly! Ambrose beat him last week, and can’t even bother to put over that fact and make it seem like what he accomplished was a big deal. Hell, brag about beating Cena FASTER than Styles did, but don’t just bury the guy entirely.

I mean, I get it, Deano is trying to say that he’s better than Cena with that dismissive shot he took at him, but it was a really bad, counter-productive move. Because really, if Dean wins the triple threat (he won’t), then who on the entire SmackDown roster is the next big threat? Baron Corbin? One of the Vaudevillians?

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
