WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Oct 5)

4. Heels Hate Cancer

Now don€™t get me wrong, cancer sucks. And it€™s great that WWE raises a lot of money for the Susan G. Komen foundation. What doesn€™t make sense, though, is how every babyface and heel join in on the fight. It€™s like when ECW and WCW invaded WWE, everyone was forced to join together for a few months. Now all WWE stars have formed a giant tag team to fight cancer...while also fighting each other. So why are so many bad characters doing good things? On Raw, the company€™s heels in Cameron, Titus O€™Neil and Layla (wait... when did she turn heel again?) all took part in an emotional video during the show. Then, just minutes after Titus€™ story about his grandmother, we were supposed to cheer for Los Matadores to beat him up! Hey, I didn€™t see Diego, Fernando and El Torito speaking out against cancer. So aren€™t they the heels? To make things even more confusing, Titus celebrated with civil rights activist Jesse Jackson, and then proceeded to beat up a little person. There are no words. Later on SmackDown, AJ Lee gave Alicia Fox a beating of her own while Fox was wearing a shirt in support of cancer. It was an odd visual. Now when they€™re not on the show, WWE stars should absolutely be free to take part in any charitable causes they want to. But when WWE is telling a story, it makes it harder to get invested when supposedly bad people are doing great deeds. Would we have been able to boo Darth Vader if he was wearing a pink helmet in support of cancer research?

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
