In an ideal world, Sean OHaire would have been battling the likes of The Undertaker, Randy Orton and John Cena over the past 10 years. He would have made a ton of money. His devils advocate character would have made him a main-eventer, and he would have given fans countless memories. In this perfect world he also wouldnt have suffered from alcohol addiction. At 43-years-old, he should have either recently retired or been getting ready to hang it up after a long, successful career. Unfortunately OHaire will instead be remembered for what his career could have been. He had a great look. He possessed incredible athleticism. Just watch his back flip off the top rope or his Seanton Bomb to see how well the big man could move. He also had some of the greatest vignettes in WWE history. It seemed that WWE was going to have a future star on their hands, but it just didnt work out. O'Haire was yanked away from his promising gimmick to team up with Piper. Even Piper knew it wasn't going to work. After that he floundered with no storyline direction, before he and the company decided to part ways. After the Benoit murders, weve been relatively lucky by not having so many wrestlers dying young. WWE has cleaned up their act a bit, and it's been a great help to the overall industry. They tried with O'Haire. They sent him to rehab six times, but he just couldn't overcome his demons. Its a shame that the world has lost such a great talent at such a young age. But then, Im not telling you anything you dont already know. Time to kick out.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
