WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Sep 28)

3. RIP Intercontinental Title

The Intercontinental Title isn€™t doing so well. In its old age, it seems to forget what it was. Talented men used to hold it. Great matches came from feuds over it. Fans used to care. Now the belt is sad to look at. It€™s clearly not what it was. The kind thing to do with it is take it out back. You could pull an old belt out of a dumpster, wipe off the spaghetti stains on it, and it would be worth more than the Intercontinental belt right now. I can€™t stand to watch it anymore! Yes, The Godfather once held the Intercontinental Title, Prince Albert did too, but now the title is taking a backseat to stunt doubles and country music stars. At Night of Champions, the announcers couldn€™t have cared less that they were watching a title match. There were too many bad jokes to be told! There were two too many singers to suck up to. Miz won the title, and then Dolph got it back the next night. What good did that do for anyone? It€™s not even the first time Miz lost his newly won title either, as after winning the title at WrestleMania 29 he dropped it the next day to Bad News Barrett! Would it really hurt anything to not switch the title back and forth with no storyline support? With the World Heavyweight Title being inactive, one would think the Intercontinental Title would have been elevated. Instead, it€™s basically the modern day European title. Next week don€™t be surprised when Naked Mideon wins it.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
