WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Sept 25)

7. What’s Next?

American Alpha The Usos

WWE and TNA are both absolutely terrible at something I’d like to call “What next?” (working title, trademark pending). As in, they throw something out there on free TV without any build up, and then don’t have a clear path on what the next thing after that is.

For example, the biggest, long term feud the SmackDown tag titles can possibly revolve around is The Usos vs. American Alpha. They’ve given it to us twice on TV, so after the Usos/Rhyno and Slater match plays out then...what next? Go back to Usos and Alpha? Or are they going to build up The Ascension to be the next credible challengers? How about The Vaudevillians? Maybe they could just bring the Headbangers back, or perhaps Deuce and Domino!

Over in TNA, the X-Division had its first one-on-one match in what felt like years and they had Trevor Lee lose to DJ Z in a matter of minutes. So again..what’s next? Who in that entire division has been built up enough to face Z? I still don't even know what a Mandrews is! Is it like a Ryback?

A little bit of planning can go a long way, but it's a wonder how rarely this is done on worldwide wrestling television shows.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
