WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Sept. 6)
2. Bargain Bin Invasion
The WCW Invasion of the WWF was awful. Its a well-known wrestling fact. But at least both sides had the numbers involved to make it look like a big battle. GFW vs. TNA does not have this going for them. This week Jeff Jarrett decided to come to Impact, the show where his wrestlers beat up a bunch of Dixies wrestlers last week. He brought five men, and one woman for backup. Doesnt that seem a little under-prepared? So they're soon going to have a winner-take-all match, and Dixie Carter assembled her team to fight for the very existence of TNA. Who does she get? Samoa Joe? A.J. Styles? Americas Most Wanted? Hell, how about Rob Terry? He was at least there for awhile. No, she recruits The Wolves (started with the company in January of 2014), Bobby Lashley (returned to the company in March of 2014) and Drew Galloway (joined in January of 2015). These guys are all talented, but NONE of them feel like TNA guys. This would be like Global Force invading WWE, and Vince McMahon lining up The Lucha Dragons, Neville and Ryback to fend off the attackers. Its just hard to care about a brand that doesnt have a TV show fighting for control of a show where 90% of the big names have left over the past couple years. This isnt a war, this is closer to a tickle fight that you just feel uncomfortable watching.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
