WWE Announces Mysterious "Dungeon Style" Match On Latest SmackDown
There will be a tribute to the Hart family's past on next week's WWE SmackDown.
Natalya and Aliyah will compete in a "Dungeon Style" match on next week's episode of SmackDown.
WWE formally announced the bout on this past Friday's show, but there's an air of mystery about exactly what "Dungeon Style" means - Nattie didn't go into extreme details on how it'll work, and neither did authority figures Adam Pearce or Sonya Deville.
Aliyah earned another win over Natalya via countout before the latter stormed into Pearce and Deville's office backstage demanding something special. The only clue fans have about how the bout will work is that Nattie said it'd be "pinfall or submission only".
Surely that's not all they have planned here?
This is obviously a nod towards Natalya's Hart family history. Her grandfather, Stu, infamously had a "Dungeon" in the basement of his house - Bret, Owen and others have detailed the screams they heard coming from that room as children over the years. Stu enjoyed stretching out wannabe pro wrestlers on the mat.
Maybe that's what WWE will do next week. Perhaps Nattie will be booked to stretch Aliyah and finally get the upper hand. Or, y'know, she'll get more egg on her face!
