WWE Announces TWO-HOUR Kickoff Show For Survivor Series 2020
Are marathon pay-per-views coming back?
This year's Survivor Series could be a long one.
WWE's official website has announced that the pay-per-view will start at 7pm EST. They also revealed that the warm up Kickoff show is scheduled to start at 5pm EST. That means the company are planning a two-hour pre-show before Survivor Series even starts.
This will be the first two-hour Kickoff since WrestleMania 36 in April. Before that, WWE's larger shows commonly had a lengthy lead-in, but every pay-per-view since 'Mania has followed a shorter, one-hour format - that included August's SummerSlam.
So, is this a hint that WWE want to start running longer pay-per-views again, or do they have something special in the works? Early graphics and posters for Survivor Series heavily promote the fact that this will be The Undertaker's 30th anniversary.
The legend debuted back at the 1990 version of the event, and WWE will probably want to honour 'The Deadman' in some way on 22 November.
Maybe they've got a new documentary lined up? Or, failing that, perhaps WWE just want to get back in the groove with longer shows and make Survivor Series stand out.
