Before the WWE Draft, noise was made that the company planned to bring back some old regulars. These names would help pad out the Raw and SmackDown rosters, which is exactly why guys like Jinder Mahal and Rhyno are back under contract. Soon, Curt Hawkins will be joining them, he's set to debut on the next edition of SmackDown.

Whilst that has been advertised, there's no reason why Hawkins couldn't make a non-wrestling appearance at Backlash. After all, it seems likely that WWE will at least reference the fact that he used to team regularly with Zack Ryder during his last run with the company.

Imagine Hawkins did show face on the pay-per-view, celebrating with The Hype Bros after a big win over The Usos. Naturally, both Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley would be confused. Even if the babyfaces don't emerge victorious, Hawkins could come out and state that he thinks Zack should ditch the loser (Mojo).

At the moment, nothing is scheduled for Hawkins at Backlash, so this would be a complete surprise.
