WWE Backlash 2016: 10 Things You Might Have Missed
4. Bray Wyatt Hasn't Progressed Since Last Facing Kane
Remember when Bray Wyatt brought his Wyatt Family gimmick to the main roster in 2013, and everybody theorised about his future life as a surefire WWE headliner? Those days seem almost halcyon now, because Backlash proved that Wyatt hasn't really progressed much since his debut. He's a great performer, but he's still being let down by creative.
At SummerSlam 2013, Bray faced Kane in an ill-fated 'Ring Of Fire' encounter. The bout was short and didn't do much to put Wyatt over as a huge threat to established stars like his masked foe. Fast forward just over three years, and that same Bray Wyatt was losing to Kane at Backlash 2016.
There will be those regular viewers who still believe Wyatt has all the tools to become a fixture in the main event pack, but surely it's high time WWE management allowed him to fulfill that potential. Wyatt vs. Kane was a simple replacement for the injured Randy Orton, but it showed up the lack of faith officials have for Bray once the surface of the loss was scratched.
