What a year it has been for AJ Styles. Heck, what a three years it has been. This Sunday night, Styles challenges Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Championship, and it is hard to argue against Styles winning the strap. He has been WWE's MVP in 2016, putting on truly superb matches week after week after week, and you don't waste a clean as a whistle win over John Cena by following it up with a loss.

What's that? Kevin Owens?

Okay, all jokes aside, the time is right to go ahead with AJ Styles as The Face That Runs The Place. He is as good as anyone in the world right now, capable of putting on great matches with anyone and everyone whether he works as a face or a heel. He may well be the most complete professional wrestler on the planet right now.

Ambrose's world title reign has been fine, but it truly feels like there are more legs in the character without the championship. This week is going to end with Kevin Owens and AJ Styles as the two top champions in World Wrestling Entertainment. What a time to be alive.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
