WWE Backlash 2017: 20 Best Internet Reactions To Jinder Mahal's Win

18. Was The Opener A Little Underwhelming?

Regardless of where it was placed on the card, or what happened later on, some commenters seem to be suggesting that there was a pretty fundamental problem with the match itself. It wasn't all that great, despite the build, as if WWE were hyping a different match to the one they booked.

Almost like they were selling PPV buys or something...

Other theories exist too, though, suggesting that the match wasn't the all-action affair it could have been because it was designed to be a more gentle introduction to the PPV.

At the end of the day, it looks like there was a disconnect between expectations of what Nakamura would bring to the match and what actually happened. Even if you're the biggest Dolph Ziggler fan in the world, there's no getting around the fact that booking him to beat up the King Of Strong Style for so long is a little... odd.
