WWE Backlash 2020: 10 Things That Must Happen

8. Apollo Crews Looks Strong

This one needs the complete opposite.

Both Apollo Crews and Andrade are at their best when they're working longer matches. If anything, a lengthy struggle will give Apollo some identity as United States Champion and help the announcers sell him as the kind of workhorse champ Seth Rollins was as IC Champ in 2018 or AJ Styles was as US Champ last year.

It's also vital that Crews comes out of the rematch looking strong. WWE will pretend that this isn't an automatic redo (Andrade won a three-way to earn this shot, they'll say), but it actually is, and fans aren't fooled. Rather than exert all energy on selling that, the company should make sure Apollo looks strong.

He's been anything but over the years since moving up from NXT. This is perhaps his final chance at becoming something more in WWE, and they can't botch it. A strong win over Andrade, who will no doubt be backed by a conniving Zelina Vega, sounds like just the ticket.
