WWE Backlash 2020: 10 Things That Must Happen

5. Sheamus Beats Jeff Hardy

Originally, this writer believed that Jeff Hardy should get a marquee win on pay-per-view over Sheamus and then move into the Intercontinental Title conversation. He's changed his mind. Jeff earned a win over his bullying rival a month ago on SmackDown, and now it's time for Sheamus' to get a little receipt.

50/50 booking, sure, but the feud isn't ending on Sunday.

There's a lot more to come from this addiction-fuelled situation. Sheamus can't go from potentially pouring alcohol down Hardy's throat and setting him up for vehicular homicide to slinking back from whence he came just because of one pay-per-view match. At Backlash, the Irishman has to get the 'W'.

He has to be a total sh*tbag heel about it too. You know the drill: Sheamus Brogue Kicks his foe into next week, laughs about it and then smashes a bottle of "alcohol" over Jeff's noggin. Then, they can have some sort of hardcore bout at Extreme Rules to 'exorcise Hardy's demons', or something.
