WWE Backlash 2020: 10 Things That Must Happen

3. Drew McIntyre Borrows From Bret Hart

Spoiler alert: Bobby Lashley isn't winning the WWE Title from Drew McIntyre. Your jaw just hit the floor, didn't it? Seriously though, the lack of any true danger for McIntyre doesn't mean that Bobby can't come close to beating him or get his new finisher over a little more.

In fact, that's exactly what they should do. Towards the end of the title match, Lashley should lock on his Full Nelson submission in the middle of the ring and torture big Drew until it looks like he's fading. Then, like the resourceful champion he is, McIntyre can borrow from Bret Hart's playbook, move towards the corner, push off with his feet and roll over Bobby for the pin.

Without breaking the hold.

Bret, a well-known hero to Drew, used that finish to great effect at shows like WrestleMania VIII and X. He also brought it back when warring with Steve Austin, and it always looked great. There's no need for McIntyre to win with a Claymore Kick all the time, and Lashley's submission does need a bit more attention.
