1. (Possibly) Backlash 2020's Greatest Match

Theoretically, this tilt at 'The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever' being pre-recorded should ensure that, at the very least, it wont "sh*t the bed" (in the words of Randy himself). That theory is rejected by two very recent examples: firstly, Adam Cole and Velveteen Dream's so-so Backlot Brawl at TakeOver: In Your House just last weekend, and secondly, Edge and Orton's weeks' long first attempt at WrestleMania.

Hopefully, lessons have been learned. However, the pair could go to the Mitsuharu Misawa Academy (not a real place) for as long as their 'Mania streetfight and still not be capable of contesting the 'Greatest Wrestling Match Ever'. I make no apologies for telling it like it is, that a man who has had one good match in a decade and a man who has had one match in a decade won't rewrite the Meltzer scale.

But that's not the point of this, is it? Rather, it's to generate all the sort of bluster found in the previous two paragraphs. And the winner is immaterial.

Prediction: But it will be Randy Orton.

Will it be the greatest wrestling match ever? Oh my, no.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
