WWE Backlash 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

This isn't some out-of-nowhere takedown on Bronson Reed.

It's more someone leaping to the defence of one Austin Theory, and putting him forward to be the full-time male champion over on SmackDown during 'Roman Reigns: The Part-Timer Years'. Besides, it'd be a bit sh*t if WWE decided that Raw needed two midcard belts, wouldn't it?

GUNTHER just jumped over to the flagship in the 2023 Draft, so Raw doesn't need that United States Title anymore. It's SmackDown-bound with Theory. Or, at least, it bloody better be. It'd be a disaster if he dropped the thing to Reed at Backlash just so the writers could crow about a title change representing PLE value.

Be very careful here, boys and girls. You definitely don't need to cut Theory's momentum short just so Backlash has some sort of relevancy as a pay-per-view. People will be absolutely fine with Austin retaining his gold and then becoming a smart-arse on Smackers.
