WWE Backlash 2024: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

5. The Atmosphere Isn’t There

Last year, fans in Puerto Rico got loud for Backlash 2023. They roared themselves hoarse for the Bianca Belair vs. IYO SKY opener, and continued passionately putting forth San Juan's case for another PLE all night. By the time Bad Bunny emerged for his 'Street Fight' vs. former friend Damian Priest, the place came unglued.

You've got a lot to live up to, France.

Admittedly, WWE hasn't given Lyon localised scorchers like that Bunny vs. Priest epic. Also, as tantalising a prospect as Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles is in-ring, it can't match the storytelling produced for last year's Cody vs. Brock Lesnar headliner. It'd be rotten if French fans sat on their hands instead of going crazy.

Great wrestling crowds should never be taken for granted though. A poor one can spoil what fans see on TV, and that can definitely have an adverse impact on any pay-per-view. This weekend's show must be a celebration of WWE's international appeal, not a yawn-inducing flat, house show-style atmosphere.
