WWE: Battleground - 10 Best Moments

2. John Cena vs Brock Lesnar Is Now A Lock

In all honesty, the main event was probably the most predictable paint-by-numbers match of the night. The title barely ever changes hands at a B pay-per-view any more and with Cena the current champion, he's not going to drop it until it's particularly significant for him to do so. With him coming out the winner of the fatal four way and the three other guys in the match picking up a nice PPV cheque, it sets the stage for the upcoming Summerslam main event of Cena vs Lesnar for the WWE Title. Lesnar will go over in spectacular fashion, building off his super heat following the Undertaker's Wrestlemania loss to him and go on to dominate in the coming year. This will all build to a returning Daniel Bryan reclaiming his crown, possibly at next year's Wrestlemania. So Cena winning here made the most sense. The only other face in the match, Roman Reigns, would not make sense against Lesnar right now as any loss would hamper Reigns' momentum toward a serious title run of his own some time next year. This is just a case of WWE being caught in a difficult position and making do with what they have and they definitely made the right choice.
