Injuries have had a way of making the WWE make a lot of last minute plans as of late. First it was Daniel Bryan and now Bad New Barrett's unfortunately timed shoulder injury has enabled a returning Miz to capitalise on a (literally) golden opportunity. From the offset, The Miz played up to his new holier-than-thou Hollywood celebrity gimmick by back out of the action altogether, staying out of the action so long that all but the most attentive would have forgotten that he was still in the match. The supposed final two were Sheamus and perennial fan favorite Dolph Ziggler and the pop was substantial when Ziggler eventually superkicked Sheamus clean off the apron and began to celebrate. The Miz then picked his spot, stealing into the ring from the outside where he'd been hiding the whole time, taking an exhausted Ziggler by surprise and dumping him over the top rope. This was a moment of booking genius, knowing that Ziggler was easily the most popular guy in the match, the heat for The Miz was substantial. Ziggler sold the loss perfectly, looking on utterly dejected from the floor outside as The Miz celebrated his undeserved title win and cemented his status as a huge heel. We smell a feud here!
