Amidst all the excitement of Bayley's introduction as the surprise tag-team partner and her strong performance in the match itself, WWE didn't lose sight of the importance in maintaining balance. The company are onto something good with Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte, and it was crucial the booking of the match didn't forget that.

Thankfully, it didn't. Whilst Bayley did play a major role, she wasn't the one who picked up the win for her team. Sasha locked Charlotte in the Bank Statement, forcing the WWE Women's Champion to tap out and admit defeat to the female who is surely still her top challenger going forward.

It might have been easy to write a Bayley pin over Dana Brooke, but that wouldn't have done much to further what's in store for SummerSlam. Keeping the focus on Sasha and Charlotte is imperative right now, because they are set to collide in a match years in the making on the main roster.

This could easily have been a throwaway match, but now it sets the table for SummerSlam perfectly.
