WWE Battleground 2016: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

2. WWE Title: Dean Ambrose (c) Vs. Seth Rollins Vs. Roman Reigns

Result: Ambrose nails a sneaky Dirty Deeds on Reigns to retain the title (18:03).

Rating: This one took a little while to grow, but it was fun seeing the separate Raw and Smackdown locker rooms intently watching the match, and the McMahons thankfully didn't get involved in it despite being at ringside throughout.

Seeing Ambrose and Rollins briefly team up to dismantle Roman was undeniably satisfying to any Reigns haters, and played perfectly into the narrative that's been building since his suspension.

Considering that this one really could've gone in any direction, it was a relief that Ambrose wasn't just keeping the belt warm for Rollins, and Reigns got a fan-friendly punishment by eating the clean pin.

A thoroughly entertaining main event on the whole.
