WWE Battleground 2017: 8 Things WWE Got Right

1. Keeping The WWE Title On Jinder Mahal

As predictable as 'American Hero' John Cena vs. 'Indian Royalty' Jinder Mahal is at SummerSlam, the alternative with Randy Orton winning the WWE Title must be considered worse. Cena and Orton have tangled so many times that it'll take years before there's genuine interest in a rematch.

Keeping the championship on Jinder is the right decision for now. He's a cowardly heel who talks a good game, and there's nothing wrong with that when it's presented well. At Battleground, it was. In fact, Mahal looked clever by having a backup plan (Khali) when The Singh Brothers failed to keep Orton at bay.

It's now time for SmackDown's writers to amp up Jinder's braggart ways, setting the scene for Cena to take him down and potentially make history by capturing his 17th World Title at SummerSlam. It may be predictable, but barring some sort of major swerve that's what's going to happen.
