WWE: Brock Lesnar's 10 Best Matches

2. vs. CM Punk (SummerSlam 2013)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iynrcLn3WuI This was my choice for 2013 WWE Match of the Year. I really loved the atmosphere surrounding this match with Paul Heyman in Brock Lesnar's corner and CM Punk doing everything he can to get his hands on Heyman while also trying to fend off Lesnar, which isn't an easy task. The finish of the match was really well done. They went into the ring and Lesnar wanted the F5. Punk countered the F5 into a DDT! That was a really well done spot. When Punk applied the Anaconda Vice, Heyman slid into the ring with a steel chair. Punk punched Heyman in the face and applied the Anaconda Vice to Heyman. Lesnar broke that up with a steel chair to the back. He hit Punk in the back three times. Lesnar picked up Punk and hit the F5 with Punk's face hitting the steel chair. That was enough for the win after 25 minutes of physical action. This match was a violent No DQ battle that also involved Heyman interfering to prevent Punk from winning. I'm sure some people didn't like that, but it's part of the story for you not to like it! I don't mind it. Lesnar is incredible when he works with a smaller wrestler (as I have said many times over the years) like Punk because he comes off like such a bully and Punk showed so much heart as a babyface who wouldn't quit. Lesnar is the perfect bad guy that has as much credibility as anybody in the history of wrestling. He dominated the first ten minutes of the match, which made Punk's comeback all the more inspiring because it showed how much heart he had in his ability to keep coming back for more. Punk also did an amazing job of countering Lesnar's offense. That's what I loved about the match so much. I also liked how close Punk was to winning not just once via pinfall, but twice via submission. Heyman had to interfere to save Lesnar, which gave Punk an out as far as why he lost. I absolutely loved this match.
