WWE: Brock Lesnar's 10 Best Matches

3. vs. Kurt Angle (WrestleMania 19)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ovcKfSuxbY Most WWE fans remember this match because it was the night that Brock Lesnar did a Shooting Star Press, landed right on his head and didn't even get hurt after he did it. How is that possible? No idea. That's just another example of how tough he is. This was a dream match in the sense that they are two of the best amateur wrestlers that WWE ever had and they hadn't had a televised match before. In this case, Angle was the heel and Lesnar was the face. The scary thing about it is that Angle went into the match with a serious neck injury that was going to require major neck surgery. Every time he took a bump I was worried he was going to get even more hurt. That realness made it that much more special to me as a fan of both guys. There were some huge spots towards the end of the match with Angle kicking out the F5, which hadn't been done before at that point. Angle was able to apply the Ankle Lock and he wrapped his leg around Lesnar, which usually meant the end of the match. Instead, Lesnar showed incredible strength in making it to the ropes. An Angle Slam attempt by Kurt was reversed into another F5 for Lesnar. He didn't cover right away. Lesnar went up top and went for the Shooting Star Press halfway across the ring, but Brock came up short! He landed right on his head! That was likely the finish, but they improved and had Angle go for a nearfall for two. Another F5 by Lesnar finished it. It was an outstanding wrestling match. Lesnar hit the Shooting Star Press before, but when he did it here Kurt was too far away. He wasn't even in the middle of the ring. He was towards the other side. Lesnar should have moved him over or gone up to the other turnbuckle to do it. He should have thought about it before he went up there. It was off by about four inches or so. If Lesnar hit that SSP perfectly for the finish then it's really one of the best matches ever. I'm just glad he was okay after it. The crowd wasn't into it at the very beginning because it was the last match in a four hour show, but the last ten minutes were fantastic. Not many guys can do the moves these two did. As much as I love Angle, I really came away impressed by Lesnar. When Angle gave him a German Suplex and Lesnar sold it by landing on his stomach I was shaking my head in amazement at how good of an athlete Lesnar was. I thought they got the perfect amount of time too. I love this match.
