In some major news, WWE has announced that WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has tested positive for COVID-19.

McIntyre was due to take on Randy Orton in a non-title match to close out tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, although that bout will obviously now not be taking pace. Instead, the Scottish Psychopath is now in quarantine for the foreseeable future.

Following up on WWE’s announcement, the usually reliable @WrestleVotes reported that Raw will still see Orton in the main event spot, although WWE officials have yet to decide who’ll be stepping up to battle the Viper. However, it’s believed that McIntyre’s Raw replacement will be a top WWE talent.

Raw faces stiff competition tonight, with the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship game between Alabama and Ohio State running up against WWE’s red brand offering.

Previously, Goldberg was being teased for this week’s Raw as WWE continued to move towards lining up Da Man to be Drew McIntyre’s Royal Rumble opponent.

Even more worrying for the wrestling business, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is indicating that “another COVID outbreak” will impact “almost all nationally televised brands” this week.
